I had an outstanding experience with Silky Bites, especially when it came to customer service.
This was my very first time ordering and caring for silkworms, and I’ll admit I placed my original order before doing enough research. I initially ordered 250 silkworms with only a small amount of fresh mulberry leaves and no silkworm chow at all. I simply didn’t realize how much food silkworms require as they grow or how quickly they can go through it.
When I reached out, Silky Bites was incredibly helpful and took the time to educate me about their growth cycle, how quickly silkworms grow, how much they eat, and how they would eventually cocoon and mature into moths before my bearded dragon could realistically eat all 250 of them.
Instead of simply filling an order that wasn’t practical for me, she helped me downsize my order to an amount that made much more sense for one bearded dragon and the timeframe I had before the silkworms matured. She also corrected the feeding portion of my order by making sure I had enough silkworm chow and fresh mulberry leaves to properly care for them.
What impressed me even more was that after modifying my order, she refunded the difference the very same day.
That level of customer service really stood out to me. She didn’t just make a sale — she actually took the time to make sure I understood how to properly care for what I was purchasing.
Every silkworm arrived alive, healthy, active, and well fed. They were packaged extremely well to give them the best chance of arriving safely, and shipping was surprisingly quick considering they traveled through USPS.
I also really enjoyed getting to watch them absolutely mow down the fresh mulberry leaves! Since fresh mulberry leaves are seasonal and aren’t always easy to find, being able to experience feeding them fresh leaves was really cool.
The silkworm chow has also been excellent. It comes with clear instructions, is very easy to prepare, and the silkworms absolutely love it.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my first experience raising silkworms. Silky Bites didn’t just sell me feeders — they helped make sure I was actually prepared to care for them properly.
Healthy silkworms, great packaging, quality food, fast shipping, excellent communication, and truly exceptional customer service.
I will absolutely be ordering from Silky Bites again. 🐛🦎❤️
